I have good news and bad news. First the good: the first quarter fundraising numbers were filed with the FEC, and we raised more money than our Democratic primary opponent. Real people all across the district believe in our fight for the common good. And we did so without taking a cent of corporate PAC money. We have outraised our primary opponent throughout this race and have a financial advantage heading into these final critical weeks of the primary.
Now, the bad: our Republican opponents on the radical right are trying to buy this seat. They’ve already dumped almost $600,000 of their own money into this race this quarter.
They don’t believe in a campaign that is fueled by donations from voters because at the end of the day, they care more about protecting some profit line on a corporate balance sheet than families in western Pennsylvania.
PA-17 is listed as a top target district nationally, and we need to keep our grassroots momentum if we are going to beat the self-funding radical right in November. Can you chip in today to help us show them that Western Pennsylvania isn’t for sale?
