Hello,

The gun violence epidemic in our country isn’t slowing down.

But Senate Republicans are still blocking the common-sense gun safety
reforms that Peter helped pass through the House—from enacting universal
background checks to closing the Charleston loophole.

So we need to keep working to defeat the obstructionist Republicans at the
ballot box—and we need to keep raising our voices to demand action.

[ [link removed] ]If you
agree that it’s time for the Senate to step up and pass common-sense gun
safety reforms, please add your name right away.

For years, Peter has been a leading advocate for gun reform. He
cosponsored the Bipartisan Background Checks Act to close gun sale
loopholes and require background checks on all commercial gun sales,
cosponsored the Assault Weapons Ban Act to prohibit the sale of
military-style weapons, and cosponsored the Extreme Risk Protection Order
Act, a “red flag” bill, to allow relatives and law enforcement to
temporarily remove firearms from an individual in crisis.

On issue after issue, Peter has always been able to reach across the aisle
to deliver much-needed results for Vermont. And once elected Vermont’s
next senator, he will continue working to cut through the partisan
gridlock and deliver common-sense gun safety reforms.

[ [link removed] ]Preventable gun tragedies
continue to tear families apart, and it’s clear Washington Republicans
aren’t acting with urgency to pass the critical legislation that we need.
So we have to keep up the pressure.

We have lost too many Vermonters—and too many Americans—to gun violence.
Add your name if you’re with Peter in the fight for common-sense gun
reform. Let’s inspire his Senate colleagues to join us.

Thank you,

Welch for Vermont
