Dear John,

Please join us in urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to exercise oversight over factory farms to make them accountable for their greenhouse gas emissions and other ecological harms.

Factory farms confine animals by the thousands in warehouses, generate excessive quantities of excrement that pollute the environment, emit noxious gasses, and threaten their neighbors’ health and well-being.

Animal agriculture exacerbates the climate crisis and the spread of diseases while perpetuating animal cruelty and social injustice. Now, the industry is promoting factory farm waste as a source of energy, which is a false “greenwash” solution that will further entrench this irresponsible industry.

TAKE ACTION

Industrial animal agriculture is inefficient and squanders vast resources, while also getting billions in undue government subsidies every year. Instead of enabling this destructive industry, our government should hold it to account and prevent it from causing more damage. False solutions like factory farm gas incentivize irresponsible practices and should not be allowed.

We’re joining several organizations in calling on the EPA to regulate factory farms, including Friends of the Earth, Green America, the Center for Food Safety, and more.

Please send a message today!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Farm Sanctuary
