As a Texan, I know how discouraging it can be to see the state you love turned into a punchline because Republicans choose to pad their corporate donors’ pockets instead of clearing the way for each of us to follow our American dream.

I don’t need to tell you how important it is for Democrats to expand our majority in Congress, friend. Right now, the odds may feel stacked against us, but we’ve been here before, and together we can beat those odds again.

The past few years have been hard on all of us – let’s pause to take a breath, get dressed up, and enjoy a night of lighthearted fun with our fellow Democrats. In a world where bad news is always at our fingertips, it’s essential we find moments of light and humor to carry us through.
