Dear Friend,

For many of us of different faiths and beliefs, we begin spring as a season of renewal, a time to recommit to our core values.

Last Friday and Saturday night, like Jewish families all over the world, mine celebrated the Passover Seder. At the Seder, we tell the story of our ancestors’ exodus from slavery—a story of liberation that has echoed through the ages, inspiring those facing injustice and fighting for freedom. As my mentor U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg put it, we “are commanded to tell the story of the Exodus and to see ourselves as having lived through that story, so that we may better learn how to live our lives today.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man of deep faith, famously reminded us that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” For me, living as my best authentic self means working to repair our world—from welcoming refugees fleeing oppression to fighting for equal rights for all to protecting the most vulnerable among us.

As your Attorney General, I am committed to defending Coloradans against those who violate their rights or treat them unfairly, including powerful companies and corporate execs who pushed addictive opioid drugs.

Thank you for doing your part to repair our world. May this spring be a season of renewal for us all.

Phil
