John – yesterday, my team reached out about the current lay of the land on abortion in America.

Right now, states around the country are already passing laws in anticipation of a Supreme Court decision this summer that may overturn Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. Now, we are starting to see the impacts of those laws. Here in Georgia, our state government is one of 26 around the country that will immediately pass restrictions and bans on abortions if and when Roe v. Wade is overturned.

As the Supreme Court stands consequential decision in decades on the future of Roe v. Wade and abortion access in America, I want you to know exactly where I stand as a pro-choice advocate fighting for you in Congress:

I will always defend every woman’s right to make her own choices about her own body.

1. Those choices should only be made by a woman in consultation with her doctor.

2. Here’s who shouldn’t be making these consequential decisions on behalf of private citizens: Legislators in Washington (where Congress is made up of 73% men) or any state capitol, and judges at the state or federal level.
