John,

It’s hard to imagine the emotions Jesus was experiencing as he prepared to celebrate Passover with the disciples when He knew what was to follow. While the Passover commemorated the deliverance of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt, Jesus knew that it also served as a prophetic revelation pointing to Him, the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
- John 13:1

On Good Friday we remember the sacrifice of Jesus as He died in our place on the Cross.  It’s a somber remembrance, but there is joy in knowing that death could not hold Him.  Sunday is coming! Praise God, JESUS IS RISEN!

Faithfully,
