The Colorado GOP’s latest actions should concern everyone.

At the recent Republican state convention, state Rep. Ron Hanks received the most delegate votes — placing him as the top GOP candidate against Senator Michael Bennet. Hanks has proudly promoted Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” and attended the January 6 insurrection.

Republican delegates also threw their support behind Tina Peters for Secretary of State. Just last month, Peters was indicted on allegations that she helped breach county voting machines.

Republicans are making it crystal clear: Instead of denouncing January 6 insurrectionists and conspiracy theorists, extremists like Lauren Boebert are becoming the prominent faction of the Republican party. We cannot let them take power this year.
