Back in 1959, the U.S. had the fastest trains in the world. Now, 18 countries have trains faster than the U.S.’s highest-speed train.
But high-speed trains aren’t just better for the environment – they create jobs, reduce traffic congestion, and open up parts of the country that were previously inaccessible to Americans without cars.
