Yesterday wrapped up the final public hearings on The Shifty Schiff Show (a.k.a. impeachment inquiry.)
Now what?
We know Schiff, Waters, “The Squad” and other far left Democrats are salivating for articles of impeachment to be drafted up against President Trump and passed--the sooner the better!
However, many rank-and-file Democrats in the House are feeling stumped and uneasy about their future.
Congress is headed home for Thanksgiving break, but many are wondering what Pelosi’s next move will be…as Steven K. Bannon likes to point out, Pelosi is a master strategist and “tough as boot leather.”
Don’t take her too lightly.
Conservatives and Trump defenders should not lose their sense of urgency now until this circus is officially over. We are talking about the impeachment of a President based on hearsay and theories, and virtually no hard evidence.
When you consider what has transpired, all the good news for Trump (no real evidence, polling numbers, etc.) might make it feel easy to write this off.
For example, polling data shows that over the course of the last month, the impeachment has dropped in popularity…A new Emerson College poll released yesterday revealed that American voters are turning against the impeachment effort. Results found 45% of voters oppose impeachment, compared to 43% who support it. This reflects a reversal of public opinion from the same poll in October, before the public hearings, when 48% supported impeachment and 44% opposed it.
Independent voters made the biggest swing—49% now oppose while 34% support, compared to October where Independents supported impeachment 48% to 39%, according to the national survey. The Independents have flipped on impeachment!
Donald Trump’s has also seen an increase in his approval ratings—now at 48%, a bounce from 43% approval last month.
So now we wait…according to the House rules for the inquiry, once the investigation is done, the intelligence committee will submit a report to the House Judiciary Committee, who will decide whether or not to send articles o impeachment to the full House for a vote.
Most political analysts think they will.
But right now, only Pelosi and Schiff know what their next move will be…and that’s making Democrats in both the House and the Senate nervous, considering this circus could bleed into the 2020 election season—something Senate Democrats running for President do NOT want to see happen.
“I hope it’s possible to wrap up by the end of the year, but I just don’t know whether it will be possible and what the leadership has in mind,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, Maryland Democrat and member of the Judiciary committee, in the Washington Times.
