OHIOANS CAN'T TRUST TRUMP
With impeachment on everyone's minds, it's incredible to think that Donald Trump made his first campaign trip to Ohio four years ago this weekend. During Trump's speech, a pro-Kasich super PAC paid for a plane to fly over the convention center with a message: "Ohioans can't trust Trump."
Four years later, the facts are clear, and John Kasich was right -- Ohioans can't trust Trump.
We can't trust him on health care. He promised there would be "insurance for everybody," but Ohio's uninsured rate has actually gone up under Trump, and he is backing a lawsuit that jeopardizes health care for 4.8 million Ohioans with pre-existing conditions.
We can't trust him on agriculture. He promised to end the "war on the American farmer," but Trump's trade war with China is inflicting real pain on Ohio farmers.
We can't trust him on the economy. He promised that manufacturing jobs were "all coming back," but Ohio has lost thousands of factory jobs this year.

When Donald Trump gave his speech in Columbus four years ago, he made a lot of outlandish claims that attracted media attention, but he also said, "We're going to take back our jobs from China and Mexico." Ohioans are still waiting.
Last week Trump toured an Apple plant in Texas and bragged that the factory had opened on his watch. It didn't. It opened in 2013 -- under President Barack Obama -- and despite a massive windfall from Trump's tax bill, Apple still manufactures iPhones overseas, mainly in China.

Trump keeps talking tough on China, but there's still no deal, and his trade war by tweet is hurting everyday Americans. Tariffs on Chinese goods have already cost the average American family $600, and by the end of the year that could go up to $1,000. That's equivalent to a tax hike of hundreds of dollars on every American household.
Trump's claim that we would "take back our jobs from China and Mexico" is just one more of his many broken promises. Ohio Democrats will hold him accountable in 2020.
