Hi John,

First Texas. Then Mississippi. Now Oklahoma. This GOP-led assault on the fundamental right to an abortion isn't just about abortion. It's an assault on women and those who have uteruses everywhere.

And this issue is personal. I nearly died giving birth to my first daughter and had to make a very personal and difficult choice to carry my second daughter to term, a choice that put my own life in real danger.

This was a choice that was between me and my doctors alone. Now that choice is in jeopardy for people in GOP-led states everywhere.

I will be damned if I nearly died giving birth to two daughters only to see the day when they wouldn’t get to make that same choice for themselves. Where their rights to make decisions for their own future and for their own bodies are decided by mostly men who see them as a political tool.

If you're outraged too, make a rush donation of $5 or more right now to make sure far-right, anti-choice Republicans like Mike Garcia don't get to make decisions for people’s bodies anywhere. >>> This latest abortion ban in Oklahoma is particularly terrible – it bans abortion from the time of conception – and punishes abortion providers with up to 10 years in prison. In Oklahoma, convicted rapists get five.

Laws like these are not about protecting children or families. They're certainly not about protecting women. It's about control and domination over the bodies of those who can have children.

With the Supreme Court likely to overturn or drastically gut Roe v. Wade this summer, we have to fight back.

The Women's Health Protection Act has already passed the House. If we expand our majority in the Senate, we can codify Roe and protect the right to choose permanently. But we absolutely must hold our majority in the House to do so, and the path to holding the House goes right through CA-27.

Mike Garcia wouldn't bat an eyelash at voting to overturn abortion rights if he could. Make a rush donation of $5 or more today so he never gets the opportunity. >>> We're not going to let a Supreme Court appointed by two Republican presidents who lost a popular vote decide our future. We can and will stand up and fight back.

Let's go,

Christy
