As Avian Flu Outbreak Spreads, Meat Producers Seek “Ventilation Shutdown” For Mass Chicken Killing

Our recent exposé features a hen, hooked up to electrodes and standing alone in a small box with a clear observation panel panting, thrashing, slumping over, and lunging at the enclosure’s walls, appearing to look for an escape. Outside the box, researchers point, take notes, and watch her die. 

We obtained approximately 10 hours of video footage via public records requests documenting these ventilation shutdown experiments, which took place at North Carolina State University.

Five Million Chickens Killed At Iowa Farm; Over 12
Million Birds Killed Due to HPAI Outbreaks

As outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) continue across North America, Iowa officials have announced that more than five million chickens at an Iowa facility are to be killed. This is the second outbreak in Iowa and brings the total number of birds killed to a staggering 12.6 million. This is the reality of animal agriculture, where disease can run rampant due to unhealthy living conditions for animals. Read more.
