But if you think that Beacon Hill's Democratic leadership is going to lend a hand to Massachusetts taxpayers, think again. These are the same people who dismissed a proposal to temporarily suspend the state gas tax as a "stunt" and a "gimmick." Even the Democrats controlling state government in Connecticut and New York didn't see it that way.
On top of all this, House Speaker Ron Mariano's (D-Quincy) budget boosts spending by more than $2 billion compared to last year, with zero relief for the taxpayers who pay for his and his colleagues' bloated salaries.
