John, this is a long but important email about the community I serve and why I'm running to unseat GOP leader Kevin McCarthy. I hope you'll take a moment to read it, then chip in $3 to support my campaign.

I've been a public school teacher for 20 years here in the Central Valley.

For many parents, taking their kids to school is a daily reminder of the struggle to make ends meet. Prices have shot up, and basics like housing and food are taking up a bigger share of the budget.

I was encouraged when Democrats passed anti-poverty legislation like the expanded Child Tax Credit. That extra money went a long way for the kiddos I teach. But the Child Tax Credit ended in December -- leaving our kids in need of support at the worst possible time.

Here's the blunt truth:

Rather than find a way to see the long-term savings and benefit of giving families a hand up, McCarthy would rather blame families for inflation and needing the Child Tax Credit in the first place. It's sickening, and frankly, it's total B.S.

How some could know our kids are struggling, yet still vote against their interests is beyond me. But that's exactly what Kevin McCarthy is doing by trying to crush the Child Tax Credit.

Our community is ready to oust McCarthy, but winning will take A TON of supporters chipping in small amounts to help us get our message out. So I need to ask:
