John,
Scientists say that climate change poses an existential threat to our way of life.
That's why it's heartbreaking to see President Trump begin the formal withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement -- making us the only country to reject this groundbreaking international effort to combat climate change.
But the fight to protect our planet doesn't end with the president, and I'm doing everything I can to make sure Michigan rises to the challenge of addressing climate change. Add your name to stand with me and governors across the country who are standing up to Trump and holding up our end of the Paris Climate Agreement →

One of my first acts as governor was to add Michigan to the U.S. Climate Alliance -- a bipartisan coalition of governors working to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and honor the United States' commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement.
Together, we have a chance to build a system that works. We can protect our water, improve public health, and take action to protect our state from the effects of climate change.
This challenge won't be easy to solve -- it requires every one of us to step up and stand together. Become a citizen endorser of the U.S. Climate Alliance and show Trump we're committed to fighting for our planet with or without him.
