Last week, our team learned that Rand Paul announced his highest fundraising haul to date, bringing in millions of dollars in corporate donations last quarter. Meaning, while he was ignoring Kentuckians and spreading dangerous lies, Rand was collecting six-figure checks from corporations, lobbyists, and other dark money sources.
It’s irrefutable evidence that there will be no expense spared in order to try to attack Charles and protect Rand’s seat. They’re scared because they realize a historic grassroots movement is rising up in Kentucky to turn our Commonwealth blue.
So this month, we’re answering Rand’s dark money donations with a wave of grassroots fundraising. Because we know that if regular folks come together, Wall Street executives, Big Pharma, and Rand Paul won’t stand a chance.
Our people-powered movement has supporters from all across the country and within Kentucky, who prove what we’ve known every step of the way — Kentuckians are hungry for change.
We know that Kentucky can thrive when we lift up the voices of hardworking people from the forgotten places, and build a new coalition of people from the hood to the holler.
We know that we can redefine our politics by replacing the old Southern Strategy with a new one that lifts love, common bonds, and democracy over racism, hate, and division. We will ensure all Kentuckians have good quality health care, financial freedom, community safety, and clean water.
We have a real chance to defeat Rand Paul this election, and send Charles to the U.S. Senate to represent Kentucky. But if we want to do that, it’s going to take all of us working together and chipping in what we can to catch up to Rand’s war chest and truly compete.
