I’m pleased to announce that I’ve earned a 100% scorecard from Equality California for my record of standing up for the LGBTQ+ community!

I led the effort during the Trump Administration to end the ban on transgender service members in the military as soon as it was announced. Since then, I’ve fought to provide services for veterans, especially homeless veterans and those with other-than-honorable discharges, who may have been discharged from the military simply because they were gay.

And this year, our STANDUP ACT became law to promote suicide prevention and mental health awareness training – recognizing that trans kids are at higher risk for suicidal ideation and self-harm.

Extremist legislators across the country are attacking transgender and other LGBTQ+ Americans – already some of the most vulnerable folks in our country – with legislation like Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill and the anti-trans bills in Texas, Idaho, and other Republican-controlled states.
