We’re excited to announce that the Young Democrats of America will be heading to Boise, Idaho for our Spring National Committee Meeting and Conference from April 1st through the 3rd.

John -

Thank you to everyone who came to YDA BOI this month! This was the first time the Gem State has ever hosted a national Democratic conference and it’s because young people always lead the way. We refuse to count out any state - no matter how red or rigged.

We just came back from an incredibly productive meeting in the great city of Boise, Idaho. Delegations from 46 states and territories descended upon the Gem State from April 1-3, fulfilling their duties as National Committee Representatives. And our gracious hosts, the Idaho Young Democrats and their President Kati Durkin, showed us everything this state has to offer and as Kati put it, show that "Idaho is not a lost cause state but a state that has not yet reached its full potential." YDA's delegations were responsible for spending over $61,000, adding to the economy of the city of Boise while they were there.

YDA was joined by the Mayor of Boise Lauren McLean, House Minority Leader Ilana Rubel, Emily Walton, Newcastle City Council Member Paul Charbonneau, Rudy Soto, Idaho Senator Melissa Wintrow, Lt. Gov Candidate Terri Pickens Manweiler, and several members of the Idaho Democratic Party. A host of training sessions were held over the course of the 3 days in Boise, including their first ever narcan training put on by the Central District Health.

In an effort to make National Committee meetings as accessible as possible, we recorded the training sessions and we are excited to share the links with you! Please feel free to share these recordings with your chapters and use them as a resource. We hope to record all the sessions for meetings to come so we can build a strong database of skills that will be available at any time for your members.

Share your story for Pride Month!

We are working on a project to center and share trans voices through Letters to the Editor and Op-Eds during Pride Month. While we want to deal with the effect of the avalanche of anti-Trans legislation, we also want to share the joy and success of the trans community across the country.

If you are a trans person interested in sharing your story or want more information please email LGBTQ+ Caucus Vice Chair, Arne Nelson at [email protected]. There will be a trans-led caucusing session to go over the project with no long term commitment required.
