Friends,

I continue to be laser-focused on cutting costs for Iowans, ensuring that Iowans have the information they need during weather emergencies, expanding access to affordable, high-quality health care, and much more.

To learn more about how I've been working to bring your voice to Washington over these last two weeks, keep reading.

E15 is Now Available Through the Summer

Watch my remarks on President Biden's announcement here.

On Tuesday, I joined President Biden in Menlo as he announced that E15 will be available through the summer months. This much-needed step will help ease Americans' pain at the gas pump, boost our domestic fuel production, and support farmers here in Iowa. I've been fighting tooth and nail to make E15 available year-round and ensure that biofuels are part of the clean energy solution, and I'm thankful to President Biden for making this happen.

Keeping People Safe During Weather Emergencies

Check out my interview on our new bill here.

Last month, we mourned the loss of seven Iowans who lost their lives during severe storms. During that tragic event, alerts from the National Weather Service were delayed, leaving people at risk. During severe weather events, every second counts. That's why I joined my Iowa colleagues in the House in introducing legislation to help the National Weather Service modernize their communications systems. This legislation will bring us one step closer to preventing delays in the future and ensuring that Iowans have access to the information they need to protect themselves, their families, and their property.

Making Medical Care Affordable for Children with Oral Birth Defects

My bipartisan bill, the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act, just passed the House! Right now, insurance companies are denying children with oral birth defects access to coverage by labeling the care that they need as "cosmetic." There is nothing "cosmetic" about ensuring children with oral birth defects can chew, swallow, and eat, and no parent should have to choose between making ends meet and medically-necessary care for their kids. Our bill would require insurers to cover the care needed to treat these oral birth defects to protect the long-term health and wellbeing of these children.
