A lot has happened as the legislative session comes to a close in Frankfort, so we wanted to make sure you didn't miss this, John.

Republicans passed a legislative budget last month that gave themselves pay raises – while giving teachers nothing. This is unacceptable and just plain wrong.

Look, legislators already earn more than double what the average Kentuckian makes despite only working part-time. They shouldn't be able to give themselves raises while our educators and other hardworking Kentuckians are struggling to get by.

That's why Andy took action and vetoed these raises. He not only vetoed raises for legislators, he vetoed a raise for himself because he believes we should instead be investing in public education by funding universal pre-K and teacher pay raises. It's simply the right thing to do. But Republicans once again put partisan politics ahead of what's best for Kentuckians and overrode Andy's veto.

Andy is working every day to put our educators, children, and public schools first. But he needs your help in the fight to ensure our schools have the funding they need and teachers receive the pay they deserve.

Will you chip in $5 or more before our mid-month fundraising deadline to help Andy make progress for Kentucky educators, students, and public schools?
