Even as the climate crisis accelerates and harms frontline communities, Big Polluters are relentlessly pushing for new fossil fuel projects, despite the damage they would cause.
We must consider the climate and environmental justice impacts of all major infrastructure projects—especially fossil fuel infrastructure. And right now, we have a historic opportunity to make that happen.
For the first time, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)—the agency in charge of providing the nation with safe, reliable, and affordable energy—is considering new policies to hold Big Polluters to climate and equity standards.

FERC was established when oil and coal were the main energy sources powering our country. Everything was designed to favor fossil fuels—but now, we need to level the playing field for clean energy.
