Food & Water Action is excited to support climate champion Summer Lee.
John,
It’s clear that we need more champions who will fight for our food, water and climate in Congress. And the most important primary election for our movement is coming up in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where we’re supporting Summer Lee for Congress.
We helped get Summer elected as a State Representative back in 2018, when she ran against a 20-year incumbent who wasn’t doing enough to protect the community from a proposed fracking well. After she won that election, Summer fought with us until we finally defeated that fracking well last year.1
In Congress, she’ll continue to be a champion on climate and environmental justice, and a powerful ally fighting for us on the national stage. But first, we need your help to make sure she wins her primary on May 17th.
We’re writing letters to Pittsburgh voters because studies have shown that this tactic increases voter turnout.2This is something you can do from anywhere, to support one of the most important races for the climate. If you have a pen and some paper, you can help put a climate champion in Congress by joining us to write letters.
Summer has support from a broad coalition: in the race, she’s the union candidate, the climate candidate, and the civil rights candidate. She’ll need all of us to win this election. Whether you’ve written letters to voters before or if this is your first time — we have everything you need to get started. Right after you sign up, you’ll get detailed, step-by-step instructions. We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to plug in and help get Summer elected!
Food & Water Action and its affiliated organization, Food & Water Watch, are advocacy groups with a common mission to protect our food, water and climate.
