Hope springs eternal in spring...

This is a time for family.

Many of us are gathering with those we love this week for Easter, Passover, or Ramadan, coming together to share love and companionship.

And we hold each other close, knowing that we are living in uncertain times.

With the coming of spring, we’d hoped that COVID might finally be behind us. But case counts are rising again, and mask mandates are returning in some places. That’s one reason why a bipartisan coalition in both the Senate and House, including some of our closest allies, is urging President Biden to keep Title 42 in effect.

That decades-old law makes it easier for the U.S. to remove those who have entered the country illegally. With border authorities warning of a possible migrant surge, and the future of the pandemic uncertain, legislators like Senator Joe Manchin, Senator Kyrsten Sinema, and Representative Jared Golden want to make sure a detailed plan is in place before Title 42 is lifted.

It’s a true bipartisan effort, with six Republicans and five Democrats in the Senate introducing a bill calling on the White House to craft a plan. And this idea has broad public support.

We hope you will sign on to show your support for this real two-party solution.

This is just the latest example of our allies banding together, from both parties and both chambers of Congress, in order to push for commonsense policies that otherwise will not happen.

I’m thankful for my family during this holiday season – and for our problem-solving allies on Capitol Hill as well.

Wishing you a safe, secure, and wonderful holiday time with your family and friends.

Five Facts on Title 42
By No Labels

Eleven senators — six Republicans and five Democrats — have introduced legislation to stop the Biden administration from lifting the so-called Title 42 border policy without a detailed plan in place to deal with an anticipated migrant surge. Companion legislation in the House also has bipartisan support. Here are five facts on Title 42.

The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution “have long served as the framework of order, normative and institutional, within which the drama of America’s quest for freedom was enacted. … Today, the erosion of this shared framework has deepened political divisions.”

Biden’s Iran Deal Would Create a Foreign Policy Disaster for Us and Hand Xi, Putin, Khamenei a Major Victory
By Todd Young

By Paul Steinhauser

In announcing that he would not make a run this year for the Senate, the governor said that his decision "does not mean that I plan to sit on the sidelines when it comes to the serious challenges facing our country and our democracy. I'm going to continue to call it like I see it, and I'll keep speaking out about the divisiveness and dysfunction in Washington and about fixing the broken politics."
