Friends,
Last week’s elevation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to become the first Black woman, and the first public defender, on the U.S. Supreme Court really matters. It matters that abortion rights opponents weren’t able to stop a nominee with a demonstrated commitment to protecting the rights of all of us. It matters that many members of the Senate will only support judges ready to deny abortion care, or health insurance to people with preexisting conditions. It matters that Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is committed to equal justice for all and will protect the constitutional rights of everyone, not just the wealthy and powerful.
Do you know how your Senators voted on Justice Jackson’s confirmation?
