"Do you really think a woman could be elected to the White House in 2020?"

I am so tired of that question, friend.

As someone who worked on and wholeheartedly believed in Shirley Chisholm's historic campaign for president way back in 1972, the only answer I have for that question is: yes, really. I do.

It's 2019 and I'm still shocked to hear that question. The women running for president, including Kamala Harris, are fierce, strong, and have bold ideas to move our country forward. There is no question that they are electable.

The truth is when the talking TV heads or Twitter pundits murmur something about "electability," they're pushing age-old sexist tropes aimed to discredit qualified women from holding power.

Shirley Chisholm inspired countless women of color -- including me -- to get involved in politics and fight for what we believe in. Now it's my turn to help women and women of color get elected up and down the ballot and bring real, lasting change to their communities.

But fighting for equal rights and opportunity in 2019 is still an uphill battle. I'm fighting with everything I've got to elect progressive women -- from local office all the way to the White House.

If you're with me in this fight, will you pitch in a donation of any amount to help me elect progressive women all across the country? Our nation could use more women in charge and I need your help to make that a reality.

Shirley Chisholm used to say, "You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas."

Let's start with the idea of Madame President.

In solidarity,
