As Passover, Easter, and Ramadan converge this April, many families and friends prepare to celebrate some of their most important holidays. Marked by family meals and joyous gatherings, these holidays remind us how important food and feeding people is to the celebration of each holiday, within all traditions.

For millions of Americans, however, persistent food insecurity will prevent them from receiving nutritious foods this holiday season and beyond. While the US has long struggled with unacceptably high rates of food insecurity, numbers have surged over the past two years due to the health and economic impacts of the pandemic. The loss of family members, jobs, and sources of income has left over 38 million Americans, including 12 million children, food insecure. While improvements are being made as the economy recovers, food insecurity still affects millions of Americans, and we must be there to support them.

As we take time to celebrate this special week, we want to thank you for supporting our work to make sure every child, every parent, every senior citizen in America receives the resources they need to be well-fed this holiday season and throughout the year.

We wish you a joyous and peaceful spring.
