John — I wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you for being a part of this campaign.
As a father, voting rights lawyer, Iraq War veteran, and union organizer, I am running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 17th District to fight for the common good and our shared prosperity. I am deeply committed to building a future that leaves no one behind and a government that serves all of us.
Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, I watched wages drop and people struggle to make ends meet while corporations made record profits. I experienced Congress sending my friends and me off to decades-long wars while funding for our schools and health care went down the toilet. And I witnessed a wave of right-wing extremism trying to undermine our democracy and freedoms in Harrisburg and across the country.
The truth is: we deserve a society, a government, and a democracy that works for us — not just for billionaires and big corporations.
Since we launched in August, every dollar sent to this campaign by good folks like you helps make sure my team has what they need to run a competitive campaign. Holding onto this district — and Democrats holding the House — is so important. Not for me, for us.
And there’s no time to waste in this fight. We have to step up at this moment with brave, bold action and policies that improve the lives of people in Western PA — that’s what I mean when I say I’m fighting for our common good.
