A message from our sponsor

I apologize for being so abrupt, but I urgently need your help.

Unelected bureaucrats and corrupt politicians in Washington D.C. are threatening to shred the First Amendment to pieces by deciding when, where, and how you can exercise your God-given freedoms.

And my team of attorneys at the Center for American Liberty is trying to stop them with a critical lawsuit being heard this week at the Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C.

But with less than 24 hours to secure a crucial victory in court before Good Friday, I’m relying on you and every other American patriot who cares about the unalienable rights enshrined in our constitution to help me today.

Will you please help us defend religious liberty by supporting our emergency appeal against the United States Capitol Police Board today?

Let be briefly explain what this lawsuit is all about.

For the past 32 years, a local pastor - Reverend Patrick Mahoney - gathered his faithful parishioners on the steps of the United States Capitol on Good Friday to give thanks to God and to pray for our nation.

The Center for American Liberty

That was until last year when unelected bureaucrats intervened and shut the whole thing down.

For the first time in three decades, Rev. Mahoney was DENIED a permit to worship in public.

Then, a few months later, he applied for a permit to hold a prayer vigil at the U.S. Capitol on the anniversary of September 11 to pray for healing for our nation.

Again, his permit was DENIED.

Never mind the fact that simply being required to get a permit to exercise the right to pray in public is a gross violation of the Constitution…

The feckless, unelected bureaucrats at the United States Capitol told Rev. Mahoney and his peaceful worshipers that they couldn’t pray on the public grounds outside the Capitol.

But the Capitol Police Board didn’t stop far-left Congresswoman Cori Bush from camping out on the Capitol steps for several days in protest.

The Center for American Liberty

The Capitol Police Board even granted a large organization a permit to protest with massive stage, sound equipment, and media presence.

And when asked, the Capitol Police Board admitted that they granted these and at least one other permit application at the request of a member of Congress.

There was never a real concern for “public safety.”

The U.S. Capitol Police Board denied Rev. Mahoney the right to pray in public because he didn’t have the support of AOC, Nancy Pelosi, or any other member of Congress.

THAT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

It’s not up to unelected bureaucrats or politicians to pick and choose who can speak, pray, or assemble in public.

That’s why the Center for American Liberty is suing the United States Capitol Police Board on behalf of Rev. Patrick Mahoney for unconstitutionally denying him and his parishioners the right to exercise their First Amendment freedoms.

Will you help us win our lawsuit and hold these violators of the Constitution accountable with a tax-deductible contribution of $35 or more to the Center for American Liberty today?

The reason I need your help is because the Center for American Liberty – the public interest law firm I founded a few years ago to defend the liberties of Americans left behind by civil liberties legacy organizations – is a non-profit organization with limited means.

So, the only way we can afford to pay for this lawsuit and others like it is with the help of patriots like you.

This lawsuit is going to cost $50,000. But that’s a small price to pay to protect our freedoms.

I’m asking for your help because our lawsuit against the U.S. Capitol Police Board represents so much more than just one man’s right to pray in public.

This lawsuit represents your right, my right, and every American’s right to exercise their freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of assembly…

…no matter what you have to say, when you want to say it, and how you express it.

Even if you never personally experienced it, I’ll bet you know someone who was told that they couldn’t go to church or leave their homes over the past few years under the totalitarian edicts of far-left governors in the name of “public safety…”

… while those very same elites attended lavish dinner parties at Michelin starred restaurants and turned a blind eye to abject anarchy by their far-left activist base.

And if they aren’t held accountable for their hypocrisy and illegal restrictions, they’ll continue to spur up “crisis” after “crisis” to gain further control of your life.

The constitutional rights of every American are on the line with our lawsuit against the U.S. Capitol Police Board.

Please help us win this critical lawsuit by making a tax-deductible contribution of $35 or more today.

For Freedom,

P.S. Like I mentioned, we have less than 24 hours to win this case before Good Friday.

Earlier this week, the district court ruled against our original request for a preliminary injunction.

But I’m not taking “no” for an answer.

The Bill of Rights states plain as day that, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”

And the Center for American Liberty is feverishly working to preserve that guarantee for you, your children, and your grandchildren.

I hope that I can count on you to help us defend that right by contribution $35 or more to our emergency appeal against the U.S. Capitol Police Board today.

Thank you in advance for your support!
