Important New Initiative: Send ready-to-go message to your local TDs on the link between ‘DIY’ home abortions and coercive abortion ()
[link removed]
The Pro Life Campaign is strengthening its call to members of the Oireachtas to press the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly to stop sanctioning the dangerous practice of ‘DIY’ remote consultation home abortions.
Following the shocking new findings in the UK regarding the prevalence of coercive abortion in society and the recent admission from the HSE acknowledging the link between remote consultation home abortions and coercive abortion, now is the time for the Government to act. The Minister for Health however is refusing to honour the Government’s promise to end the practice of home abortions in line with Covid restrictions were being lifted.
To ensure the Minister for Health gets the message, please send a quick ready-to-go message to your Oireachtas Members asking them to make representations on your behalf to the Minister on this important issue.
Click here ([link removed]) and take 2 minutes to read and send the ready-to-go message.
Many thanks for your help in raising awareness and seeking a response from the Minister on this matter.

Report on Student Pro-Life Summit in Cork ()

Some of the participants who attended the Pro-Life Student Summit which took place in Cork last weekend. ()
Students for Life Ireland's ‘Student Summit 2022’ was held in Cork last weekend. Attended by students from across Ireland, it was the first in person national gathering of Students for Life since before the Covid-19 outbreak.
Over the weekend, the students had the opportunity to hear from excellent speakers, to discuss new ideas and work out plans for the future.
Guest speakers at the event included Senator Sharon Keogan, Dr Brendan Crowley and Eden McCourt and Natalia Isherwood from ‘Abortion Resistance’, the newly formed social media savvy pro-life group from England. Natalia told her heart-wrenching story of having an abortion two years ago and how she deeply regrets the decision and feels compelled to awaken women to the horrifying reality of what going through with an abortion entails.
Speaking after the event on the PLC’s Network Webinar on Tuesday evening, Katie Murray of Students for Life said it was refreshing to be able to gather as a group again after so long, to socialise and share ideas. She said that while Students for Life remained very active during the past two years, it wasn’t the same not being able to meet up and plan things together.
She said now that things are back up and running they plan to take advantage of this and try to make up for the lost time. In terms of an action plan, she said a priority for the group was to continue to draw attention to the appallingly inadequate services that exist at State level when it comes to meeting the needs of women facing an unexpected pregnancy.
In January, Students for Life published the findings of research they conducted into the government run My Options pregnancy ‘helpline’. Among the findings, Students for Life presented evidence that women who contact My Options are not being given information on alternatives to abortion and are instead being advised to straightaway make an appointment with an abortion providing doctor when they contact the hotline seeking help after they discover they are pregnant.

Baby born alive after abortion dies in England (#1)
[link removed]
A baby has died in England after initially surviving an abortion attempt.
The baby died in hospital after his mother took an abortion pill, allegedly without realising she was 30 weeks pregnant, an inquest has been told.
The mother, from East Yorkshire, gave birth in a hospital toilet after taking an abortion pill. It is claimed at the inquest the woman thought she was just 12 weeks into her pregnancy.
She presented at the hospital for treatment after taking the pill and then going into labour. The inquest also heard that prior to the incident prenatal scans were either not carried out or were done erroneously.
The deeply disturbing evidence in the case was presented at an inquest into the baby’s death which took place in Hull on Monday.
The inquest also heard that when hospital staff realised the baby was alive they began to resuscitate him. The baby, who was named Ronnie by his parents, was then rushed to a maternity unit in Sheffield where ongoing attempts were made to save him. Despite battling to stay alive, baby Ronnie sadly died four days after entering this world.
His case raises many issues, about the abortion pill, about time limits, but ultimately and inescapably it comes back to the profound injustice of abortion itself.
Pro-abortion campaigners know there is no defence they can offer for what happened to baby Ronnie, so conveniently they just fall silent. The real scandal here is the way the media collude in the silence and cover-up and refuse to ask the hard questions. With a straight face, the same media call themselves journalists, without even a hint of unease or embarrassment.
Fair dues at least to the Daily Mail for reporting on this shocking story.
