Friend,?
This week's "From the Trail" update is a little early
because we are taking a short break to celebrate Easter with our
families.
Our campaign continues to grow.? This week we were
excited to announce our first list of endorsements.? You can view our
list of endorsements by clicking HERE.

Volunteer of
the Week
Our volunteer to highlight this week is our DeKalb County
Director, Leslie Doran. Leslie has arranged radio interviews for both
Paul and Carolyn. This week she put together an extremely successful
meet and greet for us at Hobnobbers in Sycamore. Thank you, Leslie,
for your hard work, dedication, and--most importantly--your
friendship!

Issue
Discussion:? Legislative Transparency
"The
truth is not afraid of transparency and a solution does not require
silence."? Once again, the Illinois legislature failed the people of
Illinois by passing a budget without providing time for meaningful
review.? Senators and representatives voted on a budget with only a
few hours to review bills that were over 3,000 pages in length.? This
rushed process was completely unacceptable and unnecessary.?
As
your Illinois Governor, I will VETO any legislation that is not passed
in a transparent manner--even if it happens to be legislation that I
agree with.? Restoring trust in the legislative process is that
important!
Once
again, thank you for reading this e-blast.? If you celebrate Easter,
we hope you have a safe, blessed, peaceful holiday.
Paul
