Chairman Kyle Hupfer speaks at the DeKalb County Lincoln Day Dinner on the state's fiscal turnaround once Republicans gained control of state government after year's of mismanagement by Democrats. |
With tomorrow being Good Friday and the beginning of Passover, I wanted to send our newsletter out to you this evening.
On Wednesday of this week, Governor Eric Holcomb announced that the $125 automatic taxpayer refunds would soon be making their way into the pockets of millions of Hoosiers. Over $545 million is being returned to Hoosiers this year. And on an individual basis, the refund represents a 12 percent cut to the average Hoosier's income tax liability. This was only made possible thanks to hardworking Hoosiers and years of conservative fiscal management by our state's leaders.
But our state wasn't always ran like this.
Not too long ago, Democrats controlled our state, and during that time, they led it into financial disarray. Budgets were unbalanced...the state was borrowing from schools to keep itself running...we were in the red. But a group of Republican leaders from across the state decided that it was time for a change and came together to formulate a plan that would start us on a new path. And since then, we haven't looked back.
Under Republican leadership, we will continue to move forward as we remain focused on delivering real results for all Hoosiers. Have a safe, happy, and blessed Good Friday, Passover, and Easter! Best, |

On Tuesday, Governor Holcomb was joined by Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers and executives from Elanco Animal Health Inc., for a ceremonial groundbreaking for Elanco's $100 million global headquarters near the west side of Indianapolis.
From INside Indiana Business: "The animal health company announced in December it will relocate from Greenfield and build its facility on 45 acres of the former GM Stamping plant. The company says the project is not only about building new office space but also creating a state-of-the art innovation center and business incubator for Indiana’s growing agbioscience sector."
“Days like today prove that Indiana’s investments in infrastructure, talent development, communities and quality of place are cultivating an ecosystem that enables innovators like Elanco to grow and thrive, bringing their biggest, most ambitious ideas to life. Today we broke ground on not just a building, but on an exciting future – one filled with opportunities for innovators, talent and communities in Indiana – and one where leading-edge discoveries will be made in the years ahead.” — Gov. Holcomb
