Our Statewide Democratic Candidates
We did it! We made it through assembly and have our candidates from the county to state level. We couldn't be more thrilled to support these amazing Democrats in the fight to help keep Colorado blue in 2022.
We are thrilled to announce our statewide candidates:
🔵 Jena Griswold for Secretary of State
🔵 Dave Young for State Treasurer
🔵 Phil Weiser for Attorney General
🔵 Jared Polis for Governor
🔵 Kathy Plomer for State Board of Education
🔵 Michael Bennet for US Senate
Here is what our candidates had to say:
Michael Bennet, US Senator for Colorado:
"Thank you Colorado Democrats, I accept your nomination for the United States Senate. Let's do the work, turn out more voters in Colorado this year than we have ever turned out before, and go out and win in 2022!"
Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado:
“I am grateful for such strong support at the State Assembly. Colorado has weathered a once in a generation pandemic while reducing healthcare costs, improving education, taking action on climate and more,” Governor Polis said. “Those things did not happen by accident. We have focused on a simple mission: do what’s right for Colorado. Always. I believe that Colorado’s best days are ahead, and I promise that as your Governor, I will work relentlessly to get us there.”
Phil Weiser, Attorney General:
“I am honored to serve all the people of Colorado as Attorney General and am grateful that the Colorado Democratic Party Assembly unanimously selected me to stand for re-election. We have important work to continue in a second term: building on our record of defending our democracy and our civil rights, addressing the opioid epidemic, advancing public safety, bringing back money for consumers who were wronged, and protecting our land, air, and water. I look forward to engaging Coloradans across our state in the campaign ahead.”
Dave Young, State Treasurer:
"Over the past four years, we've created over $20 billion in investment returns for Coloradans, significantly shored up both our public and private investment plans, and launched the CLIMBER loan program to give Colorado's small businesses the support they need to recover, and to thrive. I'm running for re-election to continue to invest your taxpayer dollars safely, wisely, and transparently."
Jena Griswold, Secretary of State:
"I am honored to be your nominee!"
Kathy Plomer, Candidate for State Board of Education:
“Today, I am honored to become the Democratic nominee for the State Board of Education At-Large. Now, it’s time to get to work. We can create the best public schools in the nation and a system that provides all students, no matter their zip code, with the knowledge and tools for success they need.”

[[link removed]] GOP State Assembly Full of Election Conspiracy
While we were holding our State Assembly so was the Colorado GOP, and it didn't go well.
The party choose to nominate many Big Lie supporters including Tina Peters and Ron Hanks.
There were also calls of election fraud happening right there during the assembly. [[link removed]]

[[link removed]] In Memoriam: Sen. Gloria Tanner
Last week we lost a true visionary and legend of the Democratic Party. Former State Senate Gloria Tanner was the first Black woman elected to State Senate.
“We are mourning the passing of community leader, trailblazer, and former state Senator Gloria Tanner, an admirable leader and cornerstone of Colorado history. She dedicated her life to public service and uplifting the Black community and our entire state inside and outside the state Capitol. We are grateful for her service, and to have known her strong spirit.”
- Morgan Carroll, Democratic Party Chair
