It’s been a while since I last sent you an email, but I’m reaching out today because as the election cycle heats up it’s more important than ever that we grow a strong grassroots network to face whatever challenges come our way.

I’ve been busy since our successful re-election campaign in 2020, and I am proud to continue to represent our community and deliver results in Congress. Here are a few highlights:

• As a senior member on the Ways and Means Committee,I fought for and helped craft many provisions in the American Rescue Plan that got shots in arms, money in pockets, kids in school, and people back to work.


• I voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will create jobs in Southern California by revitalizing our roads, bridges, and ports.


• I voted for the federal funding package that secured nearly $10 million for community projects in our neighborhoods – from interim housing to water treatment for PFAS, city-wide broadband, library renovations, bike infrastructure, and more.


• I also voted for bills to expand voting rights, protect Dreamers, strengthen equal pay laws, require background checks for gun purchases, lower drug prices, and support labor unions which are all awaiting a vote in the Senate.

The election in November will determine whether House Democrats can continue making progress on the issues that matter most. Republicans are on the offensive, and experts say they have a real chance of taking back the House if Democrats don’t organize to stop them.

So let’s stop them.
