Maryland’s next Attorney General will be at the front of the fight for gun safety reform and protecting the existing safety measures we have. Too many families have been torn apart by gun violence, and we must continue to take action.

That’s why I could not be more proud to be named a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate! The fight to end gun violence is personal and I'm grateful to have earned this distinction.

Governor, I helped enact some of the nation’s best gun safety laws including background checks and training requirements for gun sales, as well as a ban on assault rifles and large-capacity magazines. And in Congress, I’ve stood up to the NRA and continued that work by pushing for universal background checks and restrictions on assault weapons.

But we know that our work is not done. It’s going to fall to our next Attorney General to continue this fight for the people of Maryland.
