As the world marches to save our planet, Donald Trump is selling our coastlines to Big Oil and dirty money, threatening to destroy our oceans with oil drilling.

We know the consequences of just one oil spill. Thousands of people without clean water. Hundreds of at-risk species further pushed closer to extinction. Our shorelines just a sticky dirty glob of a mess.

Right now, the Trump administration is racing to offer drilling leases to their friends in the fossil fuel industry. If there's a square inch of ocean or land without someone sitting on it, they'll find a way to let someone pollute it for profit.

We can't let that happen.

Here in Oregon, we put our beautiful and scenic environment first because no one appreciates the outdoors like Oregonians. That's why I'm fighting to make sure communities across our nation have funding to maintain and build wastewater infrastructure. It's why I've directed all six of my subcommittees of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to investigate bold, aggressive, actionable steps to cut carbon emissions.

The science is clear: our dependence on fossil fuels is dragging down the health of all life on our planet. Yet the White House and Republicans still want handouts for fossil fuel conglomerates, dirty energy companies, and other corporate polluters.

As long as there's money to be made by polluting the Earth, the Trump administration will try to roll back progress – and destroy our planet. It's critical that we stand together to defend our coastlines, freshwater supply, and our atmosphere; the future depends on it.
