Join us on Sunday, April 24, for an artist talk with Mischa Kuball at the Hirshhorn Museum. Kuball is a German artist whose work interrogates the role and intent of public art, the meaning of "public," and its intersections with remembrance.

Vita Activa is a documentary that takes a look at archival materials and engages with experts to develop a multifaceted portrait of Hannah Arendt. From her time as a brilliant young scholar at the University of Marburg, to fleeing Germany across the Ore Mountains in 1933, to becoming a New Yorker and public intellectual, the film presents an empathetic glimpse into a fascinating life.

Sustainability Forum Earth Day 2022

Join us on April 22 from 1-2 pm EST for  a Sustainability Forum taking place on Earth Day. This event will feature a preview for our new virtual field trip platform, the Sustainability Lab, as well as opportunities for transatlantic dialogue between German and American high school students. We will be joined by students from Chandler High School in Arizona and Claremont High School in California and award winning German students Leonie and Zoe Prillwitz. All attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the conversation.

GERMAN SUMMER CAMP – A & I

Do you teach students between the ages of 14 and 17? For the first time ever, the Goethe-Institut will offer a German immersion summer camp for teenagers in California. The theme of the camp is „A & I – Art and Innovation“.
