John,

Last month, Republicans in the House passed the legislative branch budget. And despite the fact that they are part-time legislators already making more money than the average full-time Kentucky worker, Republican legislators voted to give themselves a raise.

While Republicans slipped in a pay increase for themselves, they voted against giving our hard working teachers a raise and against raising the minimum wage. This is unacceptable.

That's why Andy took a stand and vetoed this pay raise for legislators – including himself.

Republicans have once again shown they're not on the side of our children and educators. Their vote against raises for teachers comes after they tried to pass a harmful tax break that would reduce local and school tax revenues by $2.5 million annually.

While Republicans prioritize raises for themselves and tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy, Andy is fighting for our teachers and public schools. Andy will always fight to ensure our schools have the funding they need and teachers receive the pay they deserve, but he needs your help.

Will you add your name to stand with Andy in the fight to improve public education in our commonwealth?
