John, I lost three of my friends in an Islamophobic hate crime.
I regularly receive handwritten death threats, like this one below:

Yet my opponent or her allies just polled attacks against me that echo the
GOP’s hatred and claim our campaign is "radical" and bent on
"destruction." This isn't just ugly campaigning— it's dangerous.
[ [link removed] ]I’m not going to let these attacks stop our campaign from fighting for
what’s right. We need to raise $1,350 by midnight to make these attacks
backfire and fight them head-on. Will you join us and pitch in $27 now? >>
I ran for office because I wanted to carry on my friends’ legacy.
This hateful language makes me fear for my family. We've all seen the rise
in hate crimes fueled by division and anger across America. This isn't a
game and campaigns should never come to this.
As Vice Chair of the NC Democratic Party for four years, I helped found
the Interfaith Caucus to bring people of all faiths together to deliver
for working people.
No one in this primary should campaign by playing with Islamophobic
dogwhistle attacks and division. That's not who we are.
The poll also went into other chapters of the GOP playbook, trying to
blame me for inflation and higher property taxes, despite the fact I
championed property tax relief.
This should be a contest over who will best help working families, not who
will best imitate Republicans.
I'm campaigning on the strength of my ideas, organizing, and track record.
That's what I want to be judged for, win or lose.
[ [link removed] ]If you want to be a part of our grassroots movement, stand up against
division, and show that hate has no place in NC-04 or anywhere else, join
us now by chipping in $27 or whatever you can afford >>
