John -- As a doctor, I have treated many patients who have had to make tough decisions regarding how, and even if, they can pay for medication and medical care. Seeing the sacrifices Alaskans have to make to pay for healthcare is one of the reasons I entered this race. Taking care of our families and neighbors should always be a top priority; yet Dan Sullivan opposed efforts to allow the importation of cheaper prescription drugs from Canada and he's voted to cut healthcare from thousands of Alaskans. Prescription drugs are not a luxury, they're a necessity -- and it's time big pharma and Dan Sullivan start treating them as such. A $400 vial of insulin costs about $4 to manufacture. This is unethical and just plain wrong. Unlike Dan Sullivan, I will never put the big drug companies ahead of everyday people.
