Last week I wrote to you about my new bill to send $500 to every family to help pay for the insane cost of gas. It’s pretty simple to me… No mom or dad should have to choose between putting food on the table or gas in their car to get to work.

However, I know this gas rebate would only alleviate one part of the gas problem. We also need to hold Big Oil executives accountable for their price gouging. It’s disgusting that they are using the situation in Ukraine to artificially raise prices even though the cost of oil is actually going down right now.

This is why I just introduced another bill to make price gouging at the pump illegal. It will allow the Federal Trade Commission to charge criminal penalties of up to $500 million for companies caught ripping off our drivers during an international crisis like this.

I’m sure these two bills won’t make Big Oil very happy - in fact, they’re going to be mad as hell at me! - but I don’t take a dime of their PAC money…so I don’t care. I do know however, this means I’m Big Oil’s #1 target to take out and replace with a corporate hack who will do their bidding.
