Nathalie Joachim is a Brooklyn born Haitian-American flutist, composer, and vocalist known for creating “a unique blend of classical music, hip-hop, electronic programming and soulful vocals...” (The Wall Street Journal)

This project features original songs from the Grammy-nominated album that incorporate the recorded voices of Joachim’s grandmother and the girls choir of her family’s home farming village of Dantan; new arrangements of songs by some of the greatest known female voices in Haitian history; and recorded interviews with these artists about their lives fighting for social justice and uplifting the people of Haiti. Not to be missed.

Sound in Sculpture

"Sound in Sculpture" <[link removed]>

Sound in Sculpture is a showcase of original music composed and performed by students from the Butler School of Music inspired by works in the university’s public art collection. Each premiere performance takes place against the backdrop of the site-specific work of art that inspired the piece. The students will present compositions inspired by two works from Landmarks’collection: Simone Leigh’s Sentinel IV <[link removed]>, and Jennifer Steinkamp’s EON <[link removed]>.
