The Third District is home to the largest concentration of DACA recipients in Illinois. In every single room that I visit across this community, I hear the concern in people's voices.
President Trump has threatened to end DACA and deport hundreds of thousands of Dreamers. And now the Supreme Court, packed with conservative justices by the Trump Administration, holds the fate of thousands of immigrants in our community in their hands.
And based on his record, we know that Representative Lipinski will do nothing to stop it. He voted against the Dream Act, he’s a staunch opponent of birthright citizenship and he’s even called President Trump a “champion of immigration reform.”
Dan Lipinski has been a consistent opponent of immigrant rights over the course of his eight terms in Congress. We need your help to get him out of office.
Now more than ever, we need a representative who stands up for the rights of immigrants and doesn’t play politics with the well-being of our most vulnerable community members. But if you read Lipinski’s campaign strategy, you would know that he is not the person for the job.
Earlier this week, the Chicago Sun Times reported that Lipinski plans to target the Latinx community with a “pro-Dreamer” message and target Republicans with a “pro border patrol” message.
Dan Lipinski’s refusal to stand up for immigrants, and his willingness to deceive us about it, is yet another example of how he is completely unresponsive to his constituents and unfit for this job.
As a member of Congress, I will fight for all of our community members. I will work to protect DACA, implement Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, and modernize the DREAM Act.
Chip in here today if you believe that IL-03 deserves a representative who will stand up for immigrant’s rights and protect DACA recipients from immoral deportation.
