I just want to touch base quickly before I start to pack for my trip to Mississippi next week.

April is already turning out to be an incredible month for Groundwork Project. Thanks to your generous support and many long hours by the GWP team, we will be able to announce our Plains State very soon! But that’s not all we have cooking…

The Groundwork Project Team:

  • Awarded grants to two new organizations in Mississippi:
    • Congratulations SHERo and Quitman County Development Organization!
  • Awarded grants to two new organizations in Alabama:
    • Congratulations Faith & Works Collective and Alabama Values Progress!
  • Awarded grants to two new organizations in West Virginia:
    • Congratulations West Virginia Faith Coalition and West Virginia Rivers!
  • Announced Groundwork TV:
    • Broadcast on Instagram Live, GWP TV is a new social media segment that will feature in-depth interviews with local organizers in our partner states. Stay tuned for our first episode!
  • Launched Groundwork Project Mini-Grants:
    • Mini-grants will go towards organizations in any of our existing partner states and can be used to cover specific programmatic, education, training or capacity needs related to an organization’s central mission and work. It’s just another way we are trying to get as many resources as we can into our regions of focus.

We are looking forward to funneling even more resources to the folks in our partner states doing the sustained, local organizing necessary to build power and make positive change. But we need your help!

Our first internal budget deadline to keep us on track with all these new programs is tomorrow night. Can I count on you to give $27 right now to support everything we’re working on?

Individual contributions will be allocated as follows: $5,000 per calendar year to a bank account that operates as a Federal PAC, and the remainder to the Non-Contribution Account of our PAC.
