Dear John,
Three years into a global pandemic, the economic and health situations of families have gone from bad to worse. As Congress reconvenes around a federal economic spending package, the time to build back for justice is now. We can’t wait any longer to build an economy that works for all of us – one where all of us have the resources to have a roof over our heads, take care of our kids, and get back and forth to and from our jobs safely.
Tell Congress: #BuildBackForJustice [[link removed]]
Last December, Congress was in talks to pass the Build Back Better Act, a historic spending package that would provide long-term financial investments to families struggling the most to get by, but activity around the bill stalled. Now, Congress is reconsidering this legislation that is more critical than ever as families are faced with difficulties paying for goods and services due to rising costs and stagnant wages. Our lives and our dignity are at stake. Congress must act quickly to support children and families in covering basic necessities. Join us by calling on Congress to make the key investments that get us closer to racial economic justice by lifting families out of poverty through the expansion of the Child Tax Credit and ensuring everyone has access to safe and affordable housing, regardless of zip code or income.
Urge Congress: Show Up For Families Now! [[link removed]]
We are building back for justice because we believe in a world with true racial economic justice – one where all of us, including Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and AAPI folks, have the resources to live, build wealth, and thrive with dignity.
That’s why on Monday, April 25, we will hold a #BuildBackForJustice Day of Action to collectively urge Congress to #BuildBackForJustice. Please save the date on your calendar and look out for an online toolkit with talking points, sample social media messages, shareable graphics, and more!
Together, we can ensure families have the resources they need to live and thrive with dignity. For additional questions about Build Back For Justice, please contact us at [
