Nottingham Castle's Easter Weekender gets underway tomorrow (Good Friday) with four days Easter fun. They'll be hosting a jam-packed programme with activities for visitors of all ages.

Explorers can hunt through the grounds for eggs hidden along a trail, collecting a letter from each egg to claim a chocolate treat at the end. You might even meet Robin Hood along the way.

The circus also arrives in the grounds so with fine weather forecast, expect circus performers, a bubble-ologist, stilt walkers, and a glitter face-painter. For those wanting to give circus a try, you can also participate in circus workshops.

There is also a series of concerts with live music in the bandstand throughout the weekend from artists including Blessing Magore, Jess Breame, Mendi Singh, Ling Peng, Tash Bird and Eternal Taal.

These activities are all included as part of the general admission. Also included in the price is access to the new exhibition: "Laura Knight and Caroline Walker: A Female Gaze".

Why not plan a visit to one of the city's heritage venues this Easter break? From a walk in the grounds, to egg hunts galore...there is something to keep everybody entertained.

At Wollaton Hall, Traditional Rides present a vintage funfair with all the old favourites for you to ride while listening to the greatest hits from the 50’s and 60’s.

Or, join an Easter egg hunt with a difference as you search for dinosaur eggs. Find the eggs and unscramble the letters to complete the punchline and win a prize. Plus, if you grab a ticket for the "Titus: T.rex is King [ [link removed] ]" exhibition, you can see a real dinosaur at the end of the trail!

Wollaton Hall [ [link removed] ]

At Newstead Abbey, as well as the famed gardens; you can visit the "Ethel Webb's Japanese Garden" exhibition which features a series of botanic illustrations loaned from the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. The exhibition runs alongside "Journeys from Japan" which showcases some of Nottingham City Museums’ own collection in a trail around the house highlighting the Webb’s love of Japanese culture. 

As you head outside, there's another trail for the kids where Ethel and Geraldine Webb have hidden treasure from Japan in the gardens.

There are plants galore to help you get our garden summer-ready.

Kids can also participate in a free Tropical House Easter Trail. Trek through the jungle searching hard for all the Easter pics hidden deep in the undergrowth.

The Friends of Woodthorpe Grange Park will be offering free guided tours of the park, celebrating its centenary this year. Tours run at 2pm on Sunday and Monday. Meet outside the plant shop.

Samuel L Jackson's Afro Samurai launches this new immersive season of films. The first event will explore themes of fantasy, speculative fiction and afro-futurism.

The Emmy-nominated animé features a black samurai avenging the wrongful death of his father with music scored by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Artist Kim Thompson completes the immersive experience with a brand new collection of vivid illustrations.

Plus live music from Uncle Mo on the decks, and Leeds based scratch DJ NikNak.

St George's Day

The annual St George’s Day parade is one of the most colourful and vibrant parades in the city, making a return this year after two years of cancellations.

The Radford branch of the Royal Society of St. George will parade from 12noon from Thurland Street to Old Market Square, under the giant flag of St George which will once again be displayed on the Council House from Thurs 21 April.
