Get involved in our National Day of Action No images? Click here Hi there, The federal election has just been announced - the voting booths and sausages are set to sizzle on Saturday, May 21. So with a federal election around the corner this is an excellent time for us to come together and make sure that our politicians and candidates know what's important to our community and what we need to see change with the NDIS. We have held 10 online rallies with hundreds of you over the last couple of weeks, to talk about why we need to take this moment and work together to defend our NDIS. Now the clock is counting down to our huge National Day of Action on Thursday April 28. We can't believe how many of you have already shown so much interest playing a part - no matter how big or small - in the events and activities coming up all across the country. But we shouldn't be surprised - because we are all part of a warm, generous and passionate community who are fiercely determined to improve the NDIS. Like this recent message from a supporter - which is something we have been hearing from so many of you more and more lately: "We can't forget about the people with disability who are isolated, who don't have anyone in their corner. That's what keeps me going." On the National Day of Action, Every Australian Counts supporters just like you will be putting all their local candidates on notice so they know that if they want your vote on May 21, they need to promise to #DefendOurNDIS. And to wrap up the big day we are holding an online catch-up from 7pm-9pm (AEST), so we can come together and hear about the amazing things people did and saw and heard throughout the day - while also giving us the chance to give each other encouragement and ideas to keep the pressure on our pollies this election. Join the National Day of Action and help Defend Our NDIS! Thank you for all that you do, Jean and the Every Australian Counts team |
