First of all, hello to those of you who may not have heard from your local DSA chapter before. We had fallen semi-dormant during the COVID pandemic but are working on reviving our communication channels and will begin holding in-person meetings again soon. Stay tuned!

Local attorney Devatma Khalsa is running for Santa Fe County Magistrate and is seeking our endorsement. In New Mexico, a Magistrate is a local judge who handles misdemeanor cases such as DUI and drug possession charges as well as some civil matters including evictions. If elected, Dev will take a non-punitive approach to addiction-related offenses (such as possession and DUI) and give a fair hearing to tenants facing eviction. Join us on Monday, April 18th at 7 PM on Zoom for a Q&A session with Devatma Khalsa. Hope to see you there!
