Friend,
My parents immigrated here when I was three years
old. The same, perhaps, as you, or your parents or
grandparents.
They believed in the promise of America: If you
work hard and follow the rules, you can succeed. Create a successful
small business. Buy a home. Give your children a good education. And
one day, watch as one becomes a doctor and the other takes the oath of
office as a Member of Congress.
I was inspired to a life of
service, first in the United States Air Force, then in elected office
to make sure this dream remains available to all who want to work
hard.
Can
I count on your help for my re-election to Congress at $250, $100, $50
or any level you can afford so I can keep working to keep the American
Dream alive?
I have been thinking a lot about the
American Dream recently. Especially since the current resident of the
White House is now attacking legal immigrants. He is
attacking the very foundation of the American Dream.
Irish
immigrants fled their famine-struck homeland. Vietnamese refugees
escaped their then war torn country. Latino immigrants sought economic
opportunity. These are just a few examples of immigrants seeking
refuge in America.
I
need your help to keep speaking up for the promise of the United
States. Can I count on your help at $250, $100, $50 or at any level
you can afford?
I am deeply grateful to my parents for
the sacrifices they have made, and to America for the opportunity it
provided. I know I can never re-pay either debt. So I am darn well
going to speak out when I see this Administration shredding the
American Dream.
Together, let’s keep working towards a
more perfect union.
Thank you, Ted
