John, In case you missed my email last week, I wanted to take just one minute today to tell you about our work with Robert Reich to keep members of Congress from trading defense stocks. Congress has insider information about military actions before the public, yet somehow they are allowed to trade stocks on that knowledge. There is perhaps no better example of politicians using confidential information to serve their financial interests than war profiteering. With enough public pressure from you and DFA members across the country, we can force Democrats in Congress to respond. Please stand with DFA and Robert Reich as we demand a total and complete ban on all defense stock trading by members of Congress.

John,
Members of Congress use privileged information to make money on the stock market.
Even worse, politicians who fund contracts for defense companies are allowed to invest in those same companies.
There’s a term for members of Congress who own defense contractor stocks while deciding how much funding the companies they are invested in receive… it’s called war profiteering and it must be brought to an end.
Working people have paid the price of two decades of war in Afghanistan with their lives and tax dollars. We can’t afford another two decades of corrupt politicians profiting from war while communities back home get left behind.
Please stand with DFA as we work with Robert Reich at Inequality Media to demand a total and complete ban on all defense stock trading by members of Congress.
Political corruption and corporate profit motives have created a situation where forever wars and an ever-growing military-industrial complex are the norms.
At least 47 members of Congress and their spouses own up to $6.7 million worth of defense contractor stocks -- stocks that see massive returns during wartime.
Help us show politicians and defense contractors that we cannot tolerate their deadly greed any longer.
Sign on to demand a total and complete ban on all defense stock trading by members of Congress.
Thank you for signing on.
